About me
I’m a Bioengineering PhD candidate at University of California, Riverside
, where my research lies at the intersection of medical imaging, neuroimaging, and machine learning.
My work focuses on developing data-driven and computational methods for analyzing brain imaging data, particularly functional MRI (fMRI) and functional connectivity, with the goal of identifying robust, interpretable biomarkers of brain aging and neurodegenerative disorders. I am especially interested in connectome-based predictive modeling, dynamic functional connectivity, and individualized brain signatures for early detection and phenotyping across aging-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and physical frailty. I conduct my research under supervision of Dr. Xiaoping Hu from the bioengineering department of UCR, and Dr. Ilanna Bennett from the psychology department of UCR.
🧠 In summer 2025, I had an amazing experience as a Medical Image Analyst Intern at Neurocrine Biosciences
where I applied my algorithm development and computer vision skills to observe the effects of a candidate Alzheimer’s disease drug on brain activation patterns of older adults.
Prior to my current role, I was an undergraduate research assistant at Amirkabir university of technology where I simulated the performance of medical devices using computational fluid dynamic (CFD), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to design the geometry of cardiovascular devices, particularly coronary stents, according to FDA criteria.
